Do electric blankets use a lot of energy?

I'm thinking of buying an electric blanket, but as my utilities are included in my rent I want to be careful. Does anyone have some information on how much energy these blankets use? Last year I tried a little space heater & that sent the landlord into a tailspin. Little did I know they were energy (& money) hogs. I'm considering buying a twin electric blanket to use just for sleeping. Thanks for any information you can provide.
